2017 Alexandria, VA
Date
2017
Location

Our 2017 meeting in Alexandria, Virginia was September 14 through the 17th. President Faye Higdon arranged for us to tour the National Archives in the morning of the 15th. We received a short lecture about how things work there. We got research cards and help with any questions we asked. At 11:00 AM we headed out to a Potbelly sandwich shop. Ate outside in a tree shaded area. Then back to the Archives Museum before heading over to the Library of Congress. There we had another short lecture about how things work there. We got a nice tour throughout the building. No photos inside, but very nice to see what it looks like.
Saturday started off with our annual business meeting, lunch and afternoon site seeing on our own. Then our evening banquet at the hotel. This was the last year we held a Silent Auction to raise money for the scholarship fund. It was the hope of the Board that members would continue to contribute to the scholarship fund without the hassle of running the Auction. Sunday morning, we headed home.
